The la(te)st ray of hope..!
... money no bar, if urge for entrepreneurship is alive
04/10/2007

Abraham Lincoln once rightly said that in the end it is not the years in one’s life that counts but the life in one’s years – A statement that could indeed make an apocalyptic difference to the lives of many. And perhaps that’s exactly what India calls for at the moment. A scintillating example would be the 45 year old Lalmuni Devi who made it to the list of top 25 inspirational farmers in Asia (as rated by the a Mexican website) by taking up mushroom farming, and her likes who have been inspired by her in the Azadpur village with the motivation rendered by Indian Council for Agricultural Research. Kunda Sakhare of Nagpur, deprived of education has managed to be the owner of a growing vegetable shop which she started with a loan of £50 after attending an entrepreneur workshop by the Community Development Society. As for instance the IDBI Bank is also trying to help the ones handicapped by lack of resources through its banking finance schemes and loans for small business. With more awareness and with more of such inspirational figures fighting their fate with valour, spate of beggary (which yields Rs.180 crore annually in Mumbai alone) will surely cease to exist and be replaced by more entrepreneurs.
