Power of one...
Daw Suu shows the way...
01/11/2007

So what if mankind has stooped so low as to execute a mass killing spree of the protectors of peace…the good news is that peace still has the upper hand.

Followed by the furore in Myanmar is the concern for an extraordinary cause of peace and this concern largely revolves around the Noble Peace Prize winner Daw Aung San Suu Kyi who has also been put under house arrest for 12 out of the last 18 years of her life. Daw Suu being an ardent believer of altruism and non-violence throughout was considered a threat to the sadistic military rule in Burma. A leader of the National League for Democracy which also happens to be the opposition for the military rule led by Senior General Than Shwe, Daw Suu has given the former a lot of reasons to furrow his brows about.

Time to wonder how a believer of non-violence has not only shaken the confidence of the junta but has made the world take notice of the mayhem that’s going on in Myanmar. Who says woman power isn’t enough to bring change? She is proof enough.
