Undomesticated
The pathetic male urge to rule...

IUniversal tears...t has been reported that domestic violence against women affects close to 67% of women worldwide. This pseudo-masochism unfortunately crosses the frontiers of development and culture. Even in the US, it has been estimated that close to 33% of women have been physically or sexually assaulted by their male partners during their lifetime. In Kazakhstan, the same number climbs up to 60%, while around 44% of married women in Columbia suffer violence, which includes 11% of pregnant women.

It would be almost idiotic to even start wondering why close to 100% cases of domestic violence (and rape) globally are always registered against men (rather than being against women). But one does wonder why despite the high visibility, government’s attention and legislation world wide, deeply entrenched socio-cultural norms across geographies have ensured that such violence goes unchecked, and in most of the cases, unreported too. Often trivialized in illiterate societies as a ‘natural expression of anger’, underneath the violence lies the male society’s deep desire to ‘punish’ the emancipated woman’s challenge to their historical supremacy. How pathetic!
